MS Symptoms and Alkalizing the Body

Diet and MS :

Many dietary changes are a major consideration for reducing the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis . There are many ideas and theories as to which dietary changes can help to reduce the symptoms of MS. One of the considerations that may be valid for most cases of Multiple Sclerosis deals with Alkalizing the body.

Alkalizing -- this term refers to the pH of the body. pH is a scale where how chemicals both within the body and out side the body interact. The scale is from 0 to 14 with 0 being the strongest acid environment and 14 being the strongest alkaline environment. To give you something to compare to, water is typically considered neutral on the pH scale (from 6.5 to 7.5) with 7 being considered absolutely neutral. Our bodies should typically have a pH of between 6.5 and 8.

Why does alkalizing the body matter at all? Well, it turns out that most infections (whether bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungal infections) require an acidic environment for them to be able to thrive and multiply. Infections love an acidic environment. If we can keep our bodies more neutral to alkaline for its overall pH, the majority of infections can’t survive.
